This 8 week program is offered to Military and First Responders; One day a week from 0930-1300 Uniquely developed for First Responders, both active and retired. This Peer based equine horsemanship program teaches from the ground up. The herd environment is very similar to that of first responders work place so this makes for great partnerships and new skills that are easily transferred into our everyday life. Learning basic horsemanship developed by Equine Canada means a high-quality standard is taught. Why Horses? Horses have an innate ability to be present and aware of their surroundings. Their keen senses allow them to feel out situations from a far. Horses are noble and honest in their communication and unlike dogs who are loyal to their core, horses seek out companionship and leadership. Horses offer people a chance to learn and trust through interaction. Add in a group dynamic of teamwork, cohesion and peer support, it can be beneficial to mind body and soul. Learning to work with and ride such a powerful animal is an extremely rewarding experience.
